Although Karthus quite often displays antisocial, unpredictable, and sanity-questioning feats, he has become somewhat more mellow as of late. There is no evidence pointing towards the direct assosciation, but it was ever since a traveller by the name of Vanessa began speaking to him, that Karthus had began to grow more calm and peaceful. They are seen often together, sometimes around the Exigo campfire, or at the outskirts of the wilds apparently walking without aim - though always with a pair of smiles.
To whatever extent their relationship reaches, it seems to at least have the result of bringing a certain level of ease to what would have been considered a troubled mind.
The sporadic follower of the wind's direction has finally found where the wind has been blowing. It is the first ground he has firmly set his feet upon in a long time, and with both feet planted, he is visibly more comfortable with all that he encounters. Without question, Vanessa means more to Karthus than wherever else the wind might carry him. He is home.
