  • A carefully written notice

((this notice is found posted on the wagon near the gathering place at Exigo trading port))

A Gnome named Maddock and an unknown archer are extorting those they find in the wilds. They can be recognized as they both go masked wearing chain coifs. If you see them beware, they will kill you if you do not pay.

    ((the note is unsigned))

Rumors circulate in the Druid Glade about a druid in badger form running from the sanctuary, and into the grove. Two others, armed, ran from the Druid Glade immediately. They were apparently bandits trying to extort money from a druid. One is described as a pale elf, with a hood and leather armor. The other is a gnome, which is also known for raising the dead.

Tamryn sees this, scowls, and appends a notice post-haste.

The gnome named Maddock is a confirmed necromancer, and has raised corpses of the living dead in the presence of numerous witnesses. He and the archer, by the name of Marrs, fought openly in the Exigo trading post.

They gave their word to behave according to the law, but now have broken it. They are out of chances.

Do not throw your lives away, but remember: aiding them is to aid known necromancers, with possible connections to the Advent.

Reads the notice and shakes his head, patting the axe on his hip.

"Trouble these two shall be for some time to come."

His thoughts drift back to the spectacular battle that raged from Exigo to the crossroads last night. "

I do be hoping Elly is getting along well with her wound." "Perhaps I shall have to find the lass."

              Smiling to himself

"A fine axe she do swing to be sure."

Cadmus turns around and follows the road back towards the hills.

*Taallic leans against the wagon and accidently crumples the note. Picking it up he decides to throw it away and replace the note with a little sketch clearly showing a detailed Maddock and some random archer robbing an undetailed person in the woods with a zombie walking past*

*In rather small, florid script, tacked beneath the post, is this addition:*

                        Fellow Adventurers,

I, for one, am terribly sorry that Maddock decided not to take my advice and attempt to push for an "Undead Rights" Sundren-wide political revolution.

Don't get me wrong--I had neither the hope nor expectation that such a movement would succeed. However, a lively public debate on the purpose, morality, and possible exemptions from draconian Sundarian laws regarding necromancy would have been FAR more interesting than YET ANOTHER storybook tale of a wizard becoming so enamored of his power to create false life that he becomes detached both from reason and hope for the lives of the living.

Maddock, if you read this, allow me to extend my apologies: by forsaking the lives and peace of others, you have done the same to yourself. If survival means anything to you, flee, and don't look back. Perhaps you can start again, make amends, or at the very least regain your senses. If not, then it is a certainty that things will go ill for you.

                        Signed,

                        Philip Lightheart
