For an extended period of time, the criminal activity in Sundren City had been at an all-time high as various different factions waged a war in the streets against each other, all vying for control of each district, block and house in the capital. Though, curiously, this seems to have nearly ceased entirely. The City Watch has praised it's stalwart members and the lawful-minded public who have assisted in the elimination of activity in Sundren City.
The City is not entirely in the clear, though, as there is still the occasional report of crimes being committed, usually petty in nature; but for the time being the populace is pleased with the lull in unlawful offenses.
Skeptical members of the Watch have stated ? purely off-the-record ? that this was not the doing of the City Watch and citizens, but rather the truth was that the situation had 'solved itself.' With the supposed recent and foreboding arrival of the Shadow Thieves in the Sundered Valley, many speculate that this is all simply the calm before the storm and something powerful is watching from the shadows, waiting for the defining moment; the time to strike.
