Word spreads of a multiple murder in Port Avanthyr, a Trader with half a dozen heavily armed guards found cut down. It is whispered that the men may have been traders associated the Zhentarim Black Network, and also that a bloodied shield bearing the symbol of Helm was found at the scene.

Official sources say that the group were smugglers. The Helmite church has denied involvement, stating that shields with their symbol on can be bought by virtually anyone and be found in circulation with various traders, something they may clamp down on if resources permit.
