Vampires, Gnolls, and Demons in Viridale?!

Below is the artist Balens rendishing of what a “Vampire” might look like.

The many attacks of the Mossclaw alliance have yet to show any sign of letting up. Now there have been reports of the mythical creatures of the night known as “Vampires” lurking in the woods. Research done has said they hate the daylight and drink real blood! Their tactics of fighting have said to be incomparable and vicious! Could the legendary creatures really exist in our very woods? Or could this be some new type of Drow? Both creatures of darkness! It is advised that no one should enter the forest unless absolutely necessary.

Further reports have come in of the Border Guards and the Mossclaw being found on the forest border, eyes plucked from their heads! Necks having at least three large holes in them! Even more blood then usual. We have sent one of our correspondents out to interview a medical analyst, after they have reviewed the body.

Correspondent Ragif: So, tell us Miss Hazel, after reviewing the tragic sight, what have you found out?
Medical Analyst Ruth Hazel: Death happened instantly due to the puncturing of the neck. Small fragments of bone were around the large holes, as well as in and around the eye area.
Correspondent Ragif: What could have caused this?
Medical Analyst Ruth Hazel: Nothing I have come across before. The holes are to precise to be that of a dire bear. No man made weapon could have caused this either. The brutality of the eyes missing indicated it is a creature of intelligence.
Correspondent Ragif: So if you had to pick, what creature might do this?
Medical Analyst Ruth Hazel: Well, I have read in scientific books, that creatures from the hell or abyss would be keen on such. They have been documented to have bone like claws.
Correspondent Ragif: Are you saying demons now lurk in the Viridale Forest?
Medical Analyst Ruth Haze: No, it is possible that some other unknown creature could have done this, but it was defiantly not from any made weapon or magic. I am saying scientifically what it might be.
Correspondent Ragif: Thank you for your time.

Hello to you, it is a gracious greeting I give you. I am aware that ambitious adventures amble about the enchanting earthly encroaching Viridale Wood. There have been those who thought themselves impenetrable and impervious in the wood. But, before us bellows a beast, blowing its breath that beseeches our very souls. Now, one might wonder who, why? Well, Who? Who is but the form following the function of what and what I am is The Lady in Grey. And now the why. The furious friction formulating like a fuming fire grows heavier. I surely seek souls that should be able to do a simple job. The pay is wonderfully well. Those interested in improving the indefinite dooming destruction of the forest (If it is not helped of course) must make it known and I will find you.

*Elriel leaves the forest to make a stop in town. While there, she picks up a copy of the paper and laughs when she sees the picture of the vampire. She is about to throw away the paper, when she sees the wanted ad written by 'the lady in gray,' and decides to keep the paper instead. She then proceeds to walk back to the forest, wondering who this 'lady in gray' is*

Thy soul shall find itself alone

*Salagar walks out of the dim alley he was resting in and picks up a paper.*

He chuckles at the picture, remembering a very beautiful woman he had met that he really thought was a vampire and she didn't look anything like this picture. Salagar is also a bit baffled by the medical description of the attacks. If I remember my grandpaps descriptions, the vampires usually attack with two teeth, or was it three? And what is with the bone fragments? Maybe the fragments were from the victim as their eyes were pulled out? Anyway, it must be a blood sucker, because the wounds were much too perfect for a weapon.

Well, I need some potions anyway, I might as well go by the Copper Quaff, I wonder if I can get a deal?

*Salagar wounders off, looking for the Military Ward*
