The Winter Festival is over. As the celebrations finally die down and the various factions begin their respective journeys home, a few among the crowd of new arrivals remain pitching tents and preparing arms. A new event of a more sobering nature prepares to reach it's climax.
In a series of demonstrations and demands one step short of uprisings by name alone, the people of Aquor have sought to separate themselves from the ownership and rule of the Thayan Enclave. Spurred on by the reappearance of a dedicated Legion patrol around the border of the mountain settlement and the rebellious speeches of individuals campaigning for a militia-run Aquor, an election prepares to take place.
The Thayan Enclave has permitted the creation of a Governor title, free of the Enclave's jurisdiction to oversee the town, to the man or woman elected by majority vote from among the battered populace, should the townspeople elect to place their trust outside Thayan hands. Some turn to the returned Legion officers. Others, to the free-thinking individuals that initially sought this break-away. Some refuse to believe any such event could be genuine, the politics too complex for such a simple device. That Thay would ever break their hold - and that the Legion would ever allow such a blatant turn-over of the Emperor's land. The former has accepted the election begrudgingly. The latter only as a showcase for Dame Ardith's just claim.
However the die may fall, it happens soon.
On behalf of Sundren state, Dame Ardith Kellridge represents a return to public appointed Legion authority.
On behalf of a militia-run Aquor, River Swift represents a commercially diverse Aquor led by a council of elders and an elected Governor.
On behalf of Thay, High Arcanist Sandro represents the ever profitable continued rule of the Enclave within the town.
(( Saturday the 14th of March the Aquor election will take place. The runners have already been selected from among the populace, but players may participate and if proven to have a lasting connection with Aquor, add their vote.
The time is tentatively set for 4pm EDT. Subject to change by a few hours if the majority so requires. ))
