  • Red Ships

Talk around Port Avanthyr has word of some unknown ships near Sundren waters. Rumors tell of ships with red sails that do not hail, nor respond to hailing from others. Some of the sailors speak of the ships having bizarre figureheads, and those rare few who pass them by closely tell of booming laughter aboard the ships right before a fog rolls in, concealing them.

Meriadoc captains have taken to sailing with increased mercenary presence, and are troubled at best by the unknown ships. Even adventurers can seek out employment at the docks, despite their proclivity for causing more trouble than they're worth.

Rumors continue to spread concerning these strange ships. Some travelers entering the valley by sea claim to have encountered several scuttled pirate ships - most of them unsalvageable - as their own vessels come into harbor. Where these rumors abound, the mention of red sails is never far behind.

Recently, word has spread that one of these infamous red-sailed ships has docked in Avanthyr. A contingent of foreign men claiming to follow "the will of the Qudssi Uf-Uawan" disembarked from the vessel under the leadership of the Emissary Cali-Ganeesh. It becomes widely known that these men easily dispatched a Luskan pirate crew attacking one of Avanthyr's own ships.

What these men are doing in Port Avanthyr besides being good samaritans .. few can say.

In response to the arrival of these strange and mysterious foreigners, Meriadoc forces increase security in and around the port.

On behalf of River Swift's interest, and to sate the elf's own curiosity, Thresh has been a busy little thing in Sundren's libraries. Her aim, to try and better understand the histories and the lands of these strange people come from seemingly so far away. Many requests have been put in by the elf with the library's staff, and she makes no attempts to hide her agenda. Claiming it better Sundren understands their visitors, and hoping that this is good enough to receive help in her little quest.
I can't tell you enough how happy I am to escape.
