  • Of Mountains, Halls, and Wilds

Dwarven travelling parties, of all sorts, have become a more common site throughout the lost country side and the wild lands that now find themselves, at times, shadowed by the floating city. Often overwhelmed by the forces that trouble the valley, some of these dwarven parties have sought outside guides. While others far too often are far too stubborn to ask for aid from anybody but their own. And they merely inquire if those of the Skullcleavers have survived before continuing on their way.

It is said that they are responding to the call of the Thane of Bristlehold, Eriak 'Oldaxe' Bristlebeard, who's trade routes have been utterly destroyed and relations with Exigo increasingly diminishing. Has the old dwarven lord awaken from his slumber of guilt and coin? Or do these dwarves march to their death?

One OOC note: Please make sure you are in your factions forums for inside information as things roll out. I enjoy forum play and will encourage it as a tool to communicate character actions and fun. This event is starting as Whurest focused BUT I do hope to wrap in a lot of other factions and sub factions to give the world a real united, or conflicted, feel. PM me if you have concerns or info that I'm not aware of. And please keep this thread in character with this one ooc comment being the only ooc comment. Thank you, enjoy, and game on.

*Angus Ironforge, Ruinsmith of Whurest and Caretaker of the Skullcleaver Outpost on Schild Mountain, overhears these rumors about the destroyed trade routes and relationships with Exigo diminishing... He frowns while cursing under his ale soaked breath*

"What tis nonsense now? Bristlebeard a slumber? Time I march atop tis Spine and check on my kin.*

*Angus heads back to Schild to grab his pack before making the long march north*
    Cheers!

On a far mountaintop, a gristled dwarf marches, his beard tinged with gray, and his face etched deep with worry and stony determination.

Through the falling snow, an onlooker would see him pause for a moment, then look back up the slope towards his Mountainhome.

      Whurest calls, and Glyir answers.

As for Dryn, he never left his mountain-home. In the months following the convening of the Iron Council to discuss the Black Treaty, Dryn has done all within the power afforded his station to keep the Iron Council functioning and Eriak from slipping further into the depths of his own mind.

Whether or not he was, or can be, successful remains to be seen, however, the sagely General remains focused on Whurest's prosperity.

            The Cold Blooded

Among the mountains where frost rules and the Elk Tribe dominates, a cleric covered in blood begins spreading his word. Blooded tribals sided by wild vampires have been a recent and fierce sight seen by only elite scouts, rangers, and unfortunate merchants. No word from those of fury nor the good woodland races. But it would seem that this new, self proclaimed, 'Blood Prophet' is determined to spread his faith among the tribes.
