Rumors quickly spread amongst travelers who have passed by the Second Wind Inn recently, of a ghastly murder that happened sometime during the night.

A frequent merchant who makes regular trips to the Exigo Trading Post was found dead just outside the back door of the Second Wind Inn, spread out on his back like a starfish. There were no signs of cuts or stab wounds - just a crushed windpipe by what seemed like a large, almost non-human hand.

Whispers of bandits and vampires abound, despite the lack of any bite marks on the body, and a full coin purse still left on the belt.

Another unusual murder victim was found on Pioneer's Way last night. The body of a young paladin of the Triumvirate, on a diplomatic mission to Sundren, was found dead in the middle of the road by a local farmer.

The paladin's sword was found a few steps away from his body, suggesting it was disarmed and flung away, while he suffered a suffocating death: his throat was crushed by a pair of large powerful hands. No other signs of cuts or open wounds were noted.

Of note, none of his possessions appear to be missing, including a full coin purse.
