Rumors Abound

[Peridan]

Several figures can be seen in various taverns around Sundren City and the surrounding locales, describing the Legion's current attitudes:

"You know that Black Hand infested town? Yeah? Well, I hear the Legion are more interested in taking Avanthyr back instead of saving them poor villagers." An old man says in his cups to a few folk in the Prancing Patron before moving on.

"They say they'll run the Port over, in the name of the usurping Emperor. Trade has been nearly as good as it was before that bloody war!" Says another Cormyrian trader, a moustachioed red haired man in the Drunken Dragon. "Don't even care about 'dos Sestrans!"

"The Legion is a mess after the Sundering." A tall, drawn looking man says in Aquor, bundled in furs. "And they'll do everything they can to reclaim territory. Aquor, Avanthyr, Mirakus....Anything besides actually facing the Black Hand or the Dreadmaster again. One's gotta wonder if they're afraid."

[Vladadier]

The Nameless Monk overhears the rumors in Aquor, as he sitting in the darkest corner of the pub. He adds to the rumor.

"Several of the Legions patrols have been slaughtered. It will be quite the chore to retake anything, considering they can't even hold the road from the gate to the Second Wind without taking heavy losses". A smirk crosses his face as he speaks of such.

"Healers, eh? Not a bad idea." An older fisherman says in the Mariner. "Them Legionnaires are good for something I suppose. But ain't letting them in like that kinda a bad idea? The Meriadocs have done right by us, opened trading and defended the Port against Umberlee's wrath. We should trust them in what they're doin'."

He takes a long drink from his ale. "Mebbe instead of Legion, the Meriadocs just let them Ilmateri in instead. No politics with that crowd, all about healin' folks."
