Maia, eventually hearing about it, muses aloud: "Is Nicholas still calling me a witch? I thought he had already settled on 'queen' in his ranting..."

William Greywalker sets out from his small cottage at the edge of the Viridale, his hunting bow strapped to his back along with a quiver of barbed arrows.

"Time to catch myself a gnoll witch!" He quips to himself.

The bard speaks of the witch mostly to the Legion at the Viridale border fort.

"From what I gathered, this crazy witch is claiming that the forest, or at least a part of the forest, is her own. She's supposedly a striking sort with dark hair, running about naked or nearly so, and with an arrogant disposition. I assure you it is NOT one of our own. All of our naked women have at least a small degree of sanity and are all accounted for."

"Would mortal kine be so considerate as to stop depositing their social cast-offs head first into my forests?
          It would be much appreciated."

So the Many-Eyed Creature Serrano is heard politely remarking to random passerbyers, as they run in terror from his hideous visage.
"Sir, we're surrounded!" "Excellent! Now we can attack in any direction."

Aellian sits back in his comfortable seat at Jimmy's, drinking a fine Elven ale.

"Well, it seems that bitch Maia is back and playing tricks on the stupid humans again. I hope she is at least keeping the Orcs in check as she runs around playing with people. I still cannot believe she liked that half-Orc that was at the Second Wind Inn. What are Elves today?"

Aellian sits back and muses on the plight of Elves in Sundren.

A man looking to be in his mid 40's emerges from the forest. His hair is a tussled blonde, though its color is fouled by dirt and dried blood. His right eye is swollen and parts of what would otherwise be an impressive long beard, are torn violently away. His feet drag, his breathing is labored. Despite his injuries, he seems to refuse any offered help though, stating that he is merely "getting old, and needs a bit of time to recover."

Through the bruises, cuts, and what appears to be a few minor burns however, he smiles with a grin far more enthusiastic than one may expect by the age and experience that dwells within. One hand rests upon a sheathed longsword at his side, the other holding tightly to a severed gnoll's head bearing a crude headress of multi-colored feathers. The height of his pride is reached upon the presentation of such to Rixen and the tale to any willing ear.

"The gnoll witch ain't gonna bother no one no more. It was a pretty damn close call there. I guess my wish t'make a name for meself in this valley got the best a'me. Guess I really should do as m'old gal says and retire from this nonesense. I woulda been dead f'sure if it weren't for those two that saved me. Had this cacklin' feather-wearing freak o'er me with a knife after barking some strange words and burnin' my leg. Then these two women came outta nowhere!... One had blue skin, pretty thing dressed in black and gold. The other I ain't manage to get a glimpse o'er face, but she had a tail! It was all lizard-like and such. The blue one shot up the witch wit arrows, then I finished the job m'self. The tailed one then healed my leg to the point where I could walk again. I be damned if they ain't the craziest pair of guardian angels sent by the gods, but I ain't complaining."

The old man seems determined to tell the story as he bandages his own wounds and lets them heal over time. He eventually lets on that he plans to return to Neverwinter soon, talking about how the job of a grandfather suits him better than an aging mercenary.
