  • The dark secret of Emiliana Blackwell

It seems, that the life of certain allegedly unimpeachable pillars of Sundren Legion, hide their dark secrets behind the veil of justice and of course - their power.

The latest gossip is, that one of the high officers of the Legion, Centurio Emiliana Blackwell, was not always so honourable as she claims to be. What's more, there is a taint of death on her hands - the death of an innocent life.

The story begins in the age, when Emiliana wasn't the mighty Legionaire yet, when she and her lower Leonardo led wild life of wandering bards full of drinking and wild orgies and when the sin, the most terrible of them, should only to occur.

It all happened one gloomy autum day, when an innocent life of the new-born child should have been ended by the joint action of the two despicable individuals - Emiliana and Leonardo. That morning the lowers murdered their own unwanted child, in coldly premeditated action of selfishness and cruelty. The hands of the mother choked the little boy to death whilst the arms of the father buried the lifeless body deep in the ground, so the eyes of the gods couldn't see the most loathsome deed, only soulless beasts are capable of.

The story says, that the two murderers are still leading their sinful lives, hating each other, scared of each other, bound together by the shacks of the heinous crime. The unknown witness, allegedly gorgeous young woman, should accidentally become a part of this newest affair, when she caught Leonardo in his pyjamas, running in the outskirts of Aquor, trying to hide before his evil lower, who pushed him out of the window in an attempt to kill the only witness of her crime.

Leonardo in the suffering from the terrible fear of Emiliana, influenced by the pressure of his own conscience should allegedly break down and in this moment of weakness he should confess all his sins to that young woman. Later, of course, aware of his foolish words Leonardo foolishly bribed the good-hearted soul with a pile of gold and a bottle of vintage, extremely rare and expensive wine to avoid the disclosure.

Many of the listeners had to ask, who Emilianna Blackwell realy is? Does the young beauty have to fear Emiliana's vengence? Now when she knows her secret? Of course there were others, who just laughed and waved the gossipers away, but the shadow of the doubt waits, because the time is its ally.

More seem mildly entertained by the story, then questioning of Centurio Emiliana's motives. Still, bards spreading the tale would receive mixed results, ranging from patriotic animosity at the thought of one of the high ranking defenders of the country being downplayed in such a way... To more artistic credence, calling it a soulful journey down the realm of fantasy.

Sesquiplicarius Thornbristle of the 11th Legion overhears these rumors and dismisses them. He opines in a near whisper, "Such mendacity… tis true she sleeps around more than a dwarf’s got gold coins, but a murderer? Not buying that one..."
      Cheers!

*Aellian smiles as he sips wine at Jimmy's*

"Well now, I knew she seemed to like the gentleman a lot, rotating them as often as an old hag turning a spit hare above a fire, but I didn't know she had that dark a past. Mayhap I will pull out my flute, some papyrus, and scribble an olde to her."

*He laughs, then takes another sip of wine*
