  • The Arbiters Doom

~With the guard currently occupied in their efforts to pull down the first collection of flyers announcing the doom of the arbiters, a second set are distributed around the towns and cities of Sundren, not merely stuck upon walls and message boards, this second set are placed within crates of goods distributed to bustling market places, slid under the doors of common households, dropped on the floor of busy taverns. there is little doubt that many will be destroyed in time, but by then the seeds would be planted~

Until I can somehow magically discover, hitherto unknown, skills to make a nice looking sig pic to represent my main chrs -

I primarily play Ignus Pyre and Smithy

Marietta Burrows didn't have a life filled with glory and riches, but a happy one nonetheless: she was happily married and had a few bright-eyed children. She and her husband often sat around the dining-room table, discussing the many dangers in Sundren.

The Legion, and those adventurers, they nodded to eachother. And of course, Dain Tornbrook - they all kept them safe. Each morning, they woke up unafraid, despite it all.

Until that day. Marietta unpacked the cloth shopping bag, when she noticed the sheet of paper.

That evening, the Burrows would sit in silence.

Harold Dunn exits the Church of Helm after the service in his dirty work coveralls, heading back to his farm on the outskirts of the city. On his way, he drops a few token staggs into the collection plate held by a humble priest of Helm. The priest bows his head in thanks and murmurs a praise of Helm to Harold.

Harold presses on, wending his way through the throngs of people crowding the marketplace, sellers hawking their wares loudly to any who strayed too close to their stalls.

Past the outer gates of the city, Harold pauses a moment to look at a strange poster tacked onto a nearby billboard along the road. He stares at its message for a long time. A sudden shout startles him from his reverie and he turns only to see loud and boisterous patrons leaving the Four Lanterns on their own business. Still, Harold glances around sheepishly, and perhaps warily. He looks to the poster a second time, then reaches into his pocket and tosses a stagg to the ground next to the billboard.

Without a word to anyone, he sets off for home, nodding to a Legionnaire standing by the road.
      The poetry that comes from the squaring off between;
and the circling is worth it, finding beauty in the dissonance.

Dain inevitably encounters one of the new posters, smirking as he reads its final lines.

"I suppose if it rhymes it's less forgettable."

He crumples the parchment between his guantleted hands and pitches it into a nearby brazier as he moves through the streets, the sunken shoulders of the commoners lifting as he passes.

*Cesar Del Sol comes across a poster while going about his business, smiling*

"This isn't even worth the paper its written on. I suspect that most junior member of their order was asked to do something to prove themselves... Is this it?"

*Cesar wads the paper into a ball and tosses it into a barrel.*
          Cheers!

Anasath indirectly addressed the posters where they would have greatest effect, as a part of the preachings she often made at dawn in the trade tier. Her words were as collected and inspired as ever, a quiet but powerful preaching played on her noble poise and collected form.

"Through every evil, sorcerer, bandit king and tyrant have these walls and this valley endured. Through the supernatural and the mundane through the darkest depths and the most jagged peaks. Through all this your noble country has been nothing less then exemplary, the legion and redblades, the knights of the triad and hands. There is no shortage on hero's whom have stamped out such silly boasting before, and so they will again. And even through the darkest night, there will always be another dawn."

Her words were spoken with no greater emphasis then any other part of the prayers and words she offered to the citizens at the time. Merely an acknowledgment of something easily cast aside.

Rian examines up one of the notices, singed with the mark of the Black Hand, and his own hand trembles with uncertainty and fear.

" ... was this inevitable?" he whispers to himself, before heading north towards Aquor.

Good, maybe a better government will take over when they're gone! Although I'm not voting Black Hand... ... what do you mean we don't vote for King?!
