    DM EDIT: See last past.

Few travellers were heard to tell a story about fierce struggle between the fire-devil and a beautiful fairy near The Second Wind Inn. According to the witnesses the devil asked the fairy to become his wife, which she refused.
In his anger the humiliated devil set on fire the ground around the fairy, so she couldn't escape. The tale says, that the fairy even facing her own doom bravely decided to defy the devil. By the eye-witness the battle was fierce and horrific, but in the end the fairy, with the help of good goddess Mielikki, defeated the enemy and brought peace and joy to the land.

Another witness, an old drunken dwarf, claimed, that he only saw some old bloke, who set on fire boots of an elven girl, just when she was wearing them. According to the drunk, that act made the girl "pretty" angry and as an result, the old chap was soon lying on the ground, being several times stabbed in the chest by the girl's sword. The dwarf also claimed, that the angry girl took the man's purse, which was reportedly "as fat as my belly". This witness was found not too trustworthy.

The rumor spreads amongst the farmers living near Exigo, that the good fairy appeared again, when she saved Tom Smith's two cows which were considered lost in the woods and when she blessed virgin Claire, daughter of Mark the Miller, with handsome and healthy son. This miracle was confirmed by the young priest of Sune, the long-standing close family friend, whose name was not revealed yet, because of his unexpected sudden departure.

By the word of two pedlars comming from Gate of the Sunderer the greatful folk living near the Pioneer's way have let to build a statue of the good fairy, who has brought so much luck and happiness to the land. The pedlars described the statue as an "exelent example of the modern art" and "imposing work of unknown artist". According to another traveller the statue is "unbelievable big and definitely the most expensive she has ever seen". Local farmers expect to double the crop compared to the last year.

According to strolling actors travelling to Sundren there's a rumor in the villages along the Pioneer's way, that the supposed fairy, whose imposing statue so miraculously appeared by The Second Wind Inn, was in fact the Goddess Chauntea herself and that the statue is her holy embodiment sent as a sign to discourage all the evil in the shire to do any harm to its inhabitants and to show the good people, that she cherishes these lands and their farms.

With lightning speed spreads the shocking news across all the farms south of Sundren - the holy statue of Goddess Chauntea was stolen! This terrible news was confirmed by group of pious pilgrims led by farmer Tom Melon and passing by pedlar, who witnessed, that he saw the holy statue standing in position a day before yesterday.

This horrible news also mentions some poor old drunk dwarf, who has been beaten black and blue by the gathering crowd of farmers, when he had declared, that the statue "was only some petrified elven bitch, who stole his Schnapps" and that "He hopes, she will burn in hell".

            Riots in South

            * The roots ot the rebellion can be found here: http://www.sundren.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14715 *

Allegedly very flustering information from the south reached the ears of Salararius Norman Tarr in Sundren Headquarters. By the yet unofficial report, which was delivered in the early morning, several separate groups of angry farmers armed with stones and pitchforks attacked passing by merchants, who were accompanied by the mercenaries belonging to The Blackwood Company. The report should also include the testimony of indipendent merchants claiming, that some individual farmers refused to provide grain for the need of Legion barracks and Red Blades.

The next unnamed source reputedly stated, that the riot broke out very quickly and that it spreads amongst the farmers "like a fire in the dry summer". Reffered to the source the angry farmers blame the members of Legion for sacrilege and heresy, because of stealing the holy statue of good goddess Chauntea in conjunction with The Blackwood Company mercenaries, who were reportedly generally mentioned by farmers as "greedy pagans".

There's also a rumor that a young peasant was beaten to death by enranged crowd of villagers after mentioning joining the Legion.

Sadly I'm going to have to put the kibosh on this as its way outside the bounds of god-modding. I appreciate the effort and enthusiasm, however you can only speak for your own PC not the actions of NPCs and especially not deities. Below is the rule about god-modding from the sticky at the top of this forum. If you need clarification feel free to ask on an OOC forum.

              Hey folks,

Some of the staff thought a sticky might help avoid future god-modding in posts. Personally, I hate the term "god-modding." It sounds so offensive. Most offenders of god-modding are actively contributing to IC posts--something we want to encourage! So please, if you're asked to change your post for this offense, don't TAKE offense. We appreciate the posts, but sometimes they must be tweaked.

God-modding is when a player speaks for an NPC. Rumors that force Legion guards to speak poorly about a current event would be a perfect example of this. Players should not determine how legionairres react to an event or person--that's up to the DM's.

Please keep your rumors limited to your PC perspective only. Thanks!
