Rumour surfaces that the Veritas have been experiencing a vicious rodent problem lately.
Reports of a particularily savage rabbit on the mountain slope and a ferocious bat in the keep proper have both been the suspected cause of troops deaths recently. With raised eyebrows these reports have been questioned, but it appears the rodents display a hunters cunning. The rabbit will feign injury to draw in prey while the bat stalks its prey from the rafters of the keep.
The bodies of the dead soldiers were found to have been gnawed upon.
Speculation rises as to the animal's nature:
-A rogue wizard's pet perhaps?
-Some feral vampire experiment gone wrong?
-To much drinking while on watch?
