"Teran'ssss... Teran'sss.."
Over and over the bard repeated the name to himself, giving different emphasis to different syllables in attempt to mirror the pronounciation given to him by the Keeper.
"TERan'ss... TerAN'ssssss..."
At least it seemed Al'aman was the ONLY one able to properly pronounce the name. There had to have been at least a dozen different, and incorrect, renditions from every druid or ranger within earshot.
"T'erAn'sss.... Teran'SSS..."
Teran'ss the Silent. Why did they call him silent anyway? It was impressive the way lizardmen could move about, given their large forms. Did that have something to do with it or was there another reason? Furthermore, did he perfer 'the Silent' in addressing him? Of course not. Why would he?
"TE'ran'ssss....."
He finally came upon the small section of the river where the lizardman stood somber and silent as he looked over the passing water. It was time for the bard to put his most diplomatic foot forward. Valten's idea was indeed a wise one. The lizardmen of Sestra's caverns could prove quite a terror for the Luskans, at least for their small rowboats sent out to shore.
However, the bard already knew this was not going to be an easy negotiation. The lizardmen would rightfully want something in return and what possibly could the Sestrans provide? At this point however, a proper mediator was the first step and that was why the bard was here. Although there had yet to be any real conversation between the two of them, the bard and Teran'ss were both residents of the Circle's glade, neighbors in a sense. The bard hoped that this, as well as his own promise to do what he could for the Silent one's people, was enough to gain the lizardman's trust.
