  • The firey dawn

Those in Sundren who were up to watch the dawn were witness to a ball of fire streaking high in the sky. The meteors trail left debris in it's wake crashing throughout the land along its path, while the meteor itself disappears behind the mountains to the north, seconds after it disappears a tremor can be felt in the ground across the land.

Word spreads from the Four Lanterns that one of the Skullcleaver dwarves reports being shown a fiery pit in the Viridale by one of the wood-elves of the forest. Apparently he said they were driven off by one of the Myrkulites from the Necropolis before they could investigate further.

It's the work of the Banites, well, the Legion Baneites anyway.

See, Bane and his bunch of tuft-suckers are dead set on having everyone and their dog kneeling down in front of them worshiping their rod of mighty power. No, they've got most folk there already.

The Legion are nuzzling at it good and proper, that means the Triumvirate, Helm and co are latched on like a newborn to a nursemaids tit.

So, who're the folk standing apart? Who're the folk that don't want to drink from Banes pool? Druids, that's who. Stands to reason, Druids don't think they should answer to anyone but themselves.

That's why the Legion, on orders of the Black Hand, tried to drop a rock on the Druids Glade.

Course, they couldn't piss in a pot in front of them, that's why it hit down where it did. But they'll try again, mark my words.

Bane's lickspittles run this land, it's up to us to stop them.
      Eira Skald - Icy bitch.
Karsten Mannerheim - Idealist and murderer.
Vincent Hopkins - Witch Hunter and man of faith.
Aedan Gilter - Dreamer of broken dreams.
Henry L. Jones - Oh god, I can see forever.

"..And so the idiot actually kept provoking me."
Mathell rolled his eyes in exaggerated expressiveness, hands broadly gesturing along with the story.
"I tried to be reasonable, and have them explain their rock-loving dance party in the woods, but no!"

        A sigh.

        "Dwarves and Kelemvorites."

        "What a fiasco that was."
"Sir, we're surrounded!" "Excellent! Now we can attack in any direction."

Chatter amongst the guards manning the fort at the Virdale border say that the druids are all up in arms over these fireballs from the sky. Talk from woodsmen say that they've seen groups of druids hunting through the woods and attacking wildlife! But when observed the wildlife they are killing are made out of bits of metal, as if they're put together like a clock or something. Some guards verified that encounters with what appears to be metal beetles have been reported.

Rumors of similar happenings come out of the exigo expidition camp, where adventurers speak of the first level of the goblin caves were at one point cralwing with mechanical bugs that were working the ore out of the rock and making themselves bigger, better... stronger. Not to mention the odd sighting of a mechanical goblin skulking around.

Word is leaks out of Sestra that the Thayan mining operations are 'temporarily' on hold due to structural problems in the mine. Oddly though a couple of disgruntled miners were overheard complaining about dangerous creatures instead of structure, and that management was notified seek help from corporate headquarters.
