  • Cowardly Hands of Mundus

Rumors gossip that the Hands of Mundus are liars, and have no real power. Refusing to show their arcane talents because of some idea of snobbery, their facade was shown for what it was when a local mage challenged the Magus Radda to a duel, and she refused to answer.

The rumors speculate the exact nature of the Hand's powers, since they refuse to answer a single challenge.
    Characters:
Peridan Twilight, one-eyed dog of the Legion, deceased.
Daniel Nobody, adventurer and part time problem solver.

    [DM] Poltergeist :
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge an intermediate deity's unbridled fury.

The gnomish wizard Jarvis P. Bloggins III scoffs upon hearing this 'rumour'.

"What mage? The Hand Radda was rudely accosted by a local farmer. No respectable practioner of the arcane would go about chewing on weeds as that backwater grass-grower did. I have no doubt that any of her incantations could have easily nullified his existence, were she undisciplined enough to act upon such things. Any such rumours are entirely false."

Cazen smirks at hearing of the ramblings of the ear-picking yokel and the gnomish busy-body.

"S'funny how one ig'nant loud-mouth farmer spouting racial hate drew an equally ign'ant loud-mouth gnome spouting classist hate. Discipline, or cowardice? That Radda broad obviously felt no need to sling spells with the guy. End o' story."

The allegedly busy-body gnome replies to Cazen:

"And it is 'funny,' as you put it, how overhearing the conversations of others will cause some to think themselves witful philosophers, commenting on that which they believe amusing. Being a witness to the incident, it is only right that I correct a slanderous rumour before it grows out of hand."

He then walks away with his chin held high.

Another gnomish wizard, walking busily along behind the pair as they argue (before the epilogue to that little exchange) overhears the reference and snorts. "Witless, spineless and talentless, clearly. A challenge should be not only answered, but destroyed and stamped into the ground. Some institution to allow such disrespect to go unpunished. No Glunklerift would ever even consider allowing a slight against the family to walk away with all its limbs in-tact, I can assure you!"
          Zorien Rhys - Whatever...

Gordy Glunklerift - There is no greater discipline nor intellectual endeavour than the pursuit of magical aptitude and knowledge. And that makes me better than you, so there.
