*the Exigo wizard Kalifer looks upon the poster with a strange gaze twisting into his visage*

I suppose I should be happy for the company expanding and for a slightly less work load, but... competition is something I already have.

*his gaze slowly looks to the request for arcanists, face illustrating further a look of deeper uncertainty.*

A crowd mills around the Exigo Trading post, fresh posters advertising a speech from Adrian Readen, an Exigo executive, have drawn more than the normal trading crowd. Yet more have been brought by the strange procession that marched from Sundren City, headed by two vast constructs, their hulls gleaming in the afternoon light. A scattering of Fortune Knights watch the crowd.

A young man steps up, his clothes sharply cut and formal. He smiles before taking his place on a small podium.

"Look around you, what do you see?"

"I see a land rich in potential; a potent place, a good place, a happy place."

"I see a safe land, defended by the sea on three sides, and with a mountains wall and stout gate defending the fourth. I see a place of family, of friends, of cherished moments and wonderful vistas."

"But I also see trouble. I see the ailments that beset our nation, I see the hangers on, the parasites and the nay sayers. Those who would hold us back or drag us down."

"It is to you, the good and honest people of Sundren that I look to, it is you and only you who can shrug off these hangers on, push aside those who try to hold us back. Together we must unite as one, we must use what we have be it skills, muscle, mind or body."

"You see this is a good land, but together, you and I, we can make it a great land. We must use the gifts the gods gave us and unite in the pursuit of what is pure! Profit, Progress and Pleasure."

"I do not mean profit at any cost, far from it – We are not the Thayans, willing to flog the flesh from men for the worth of a day’s wage. A good days wage for a good days work is the right of all, but equally, those who do nothing, must receive nothing."

"But you can all Profit from Exigo, you can reap the rewards you work for, you can benefit from a better nation, a richer nation and a securer nation. You can feel the pleasure of a good days work, the pleasure of making your life and the lives of those you love better. You can drink the wine you’ve earned, dance to music you’ve paid for and sleep with the lovers you’ve won."

"We can march forward to a better tomorrow, we can bring this nation the progress it deserves; those who would stand against the true and just march of Progress must be pushed beyond our borders! We must not allow those who’d wish us to live like squalid animals to influence our lives; if they choose not to be a part of civilisation then they may leave it, and our country behind. But they must never be allowed to influence our way of life!"

"Together. All of us. We can build the future we deserve. Our Future, your Exigo."

A woman within the shadows qatches everything with a frown, as she says to herself,

"To the hells with you bastards, where was the damn Exigo in the war against the damn fucking snakes? Now they say some crap about union and safety? Bullshit. They are just like the Thayans, they only think for themselves, for gold. Thay don't give a shit about Sundren. Fuck it"

And the woman walks off in silence all pissed.
"Nothing is true, everything is permitted."

A dark skinned, long haired man can't help but give a light chuckle as he watches the woman walk away in a huff. He then muses to the Blackwood soldier next to him.

"I didn't realize advertising could piss people off so badly. I guess we should just hault all commerce because someone might actually do it for profit.

Come on, I'll buy you a round and you can tell me that story about Sheela.
          "

A bird perches among a flock of its kind in a tree above the speaker, cocking its head in a somewhat too intelligent way - if one bothered to look up instead of letting oneself be captivated by the man's speech.

When the man finishes, the bird gives a disgusted "tweet"!

Fluffing its feathers, the bird lifts its tail giving a hopefully well-aimed crap, then launches itself into the air and flies westward towards the Viridale.
Annaleen Wiltenholm-There's always something to smile about.
Chani Kalera- Intimidation is the new diplomacy. *looms*
Eleanor "Bloody Elle" Lark - Why is the rum always gone?
Yolanda Brown - If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is going to suck.
            Astrid Hammerhand - Och!

The speaker chuckles, wiping the white smudge from his shoulder.

"See, even the birds of the air give what they can!"

He smiles and looks up at the sky

"Afternoon is here already, and a new day is just hours away. Time enough to decide what you want tomorrow to be, and your place in it."

Behind the speaker and his Fortune Knight entourage, two human men stand beside a few choice other Fortune Knights. Unlike the majority of those present however, these two bear armor of silver with golden lining; a clear illustration of rank. Both look to be in their late 20's or early 30's. One is upright, standing tall with short blonde hair and focus radiating from his piercing blue-green eyes. The second sports long dark brown hair and eyes a matching colour, narrowed nearly to the point of closing shut from boredom-induced sleep.

"Gods, he loves to go on, doesn't he?" claims the bored Fortune Knight.
"Stand up Ryan. You're a captain. Show some pride." claims the more attentive of the two. "And sir Readen is making excellent points. You should actually listen."
"Dammit Will, I didn't rise up the ranks to be stuck on simple guard duty. My men and me should be out hunting that damn Moulkin."
                "My men and I."
                "What?"
"The correct phrasing is 'My men and I'."
                "Thanks grammar-wizard."
                "I'm just saying...."

The long-haired Fortune Knight points to the direction of the earlier departing dissenter.

"You should have let me take her down."
                "Just hold your post."
"What about her?" Ryan points to another in the crowd. "She looks like trouble."
"For the love of Waukeen Ryan, she looks like she's 80. She's even got a cane."
"Could be a concealed weapon inside that cane."

Will merely shook his head with a sigh.
Wish spell?! What is this? ****ing Dragonball Z?!

Catarina reads the sign and thinks to herself: "Why would they need another tailor? I've signed in only a week ago and, yes, I'm the best they can have! Maybe I just need to gather more clients... This will show them my worth!"

She frowns a little and continues her endless search for dye ingredients and, of course, customers.
