  • Of chilling moans and storm clouds

It was a quiet, uncommonly sunny day in Sundren, and all was - for once - peaceful. A group of adventurers was wrestling with Veritas "patriots" on the banks of the Schild mountain, but everywhere else, silence reigned, and the peace was refreshing to those who relaxed in the comfort of the lounge of the Four Lanterns.

But the peace would not last for long. It never usually did here anyway, but the sudden earth shattering howl that echoed across the valley chilled the very bones of the residents of the great land, and everywhere in sight, citizens dropped to their knees in terrible fear, looking around themselves for sudden attack and covering their heads with their arms, holding their children close protectively. But the cry went on, and on, longer than any man could hold his breath, until there was again, an unnatural silence. Not even the chirp of a bird shattered the stillness, until a light rumble could be felt, spreading outwards from the necropolis until all of the valley could feel the quaking of the ground. A sound reminiscent of a roar ensued, as though the earth itself was screaming, crying out against some deathly unnatural force that was blighting its surface.

Then the clouds came. Dark, smoke-like fog spewed into the sky from the east, blotting out the sun for miles around, and filled the skies. Lightning flickered amidst the darkness, and the clouds stopped, circling continuously over a single spot. The necropolis. The sight could be seen from all around, and those who were crouched in fear, now paled several shades, pointing at the strange phenomenon. Something was happening, and whatever it was, it wasn't anything good...
Lorlen Locke: "Amazing how the righteous commit acts of tyranny and terror almost as beautiful as our own under their banner of "good". We merely call a spade a spade."

"If you can't learn to do something well, learn to enjoy doing it poorly."
