Rumours spread through inns and libraries within Sundren of a diminutive panicked-looking halfling woman matching Violet Figgleleaf's description, chattering and mumbling about having seen a massive, blackclad shady figure with a weird voice in Viridale Forest, a magic-user of some sort. The halfling claimed he was followed by hundreds of undead, prowling around and slaughtering the animals and goblins alike, wantonly setting fire to vast swathes of grass, and attacking people at random, including herself.
So the rumours go, the diminutive woman has a perpetual stutter, and though she seems to honestly believe the full story, her excessively panicked and worried demeanour probably gave many of those hearing her tales a suspicion that many of the claims made by her might have been unintentionally exaggerated - that the events of which she speaks blew up in her mind to a massive scale not matching the original events. Exactly how much truth there is to the original story spawning the rumour, and how much is innocent exagerration, is as yet unclear.
