Thayan Festival

The Event will take place around 4:00pm EST, on 8/15/2009.

The location will obviously be at the Thayan Enclave in Arquor.

A server shout will be given prior to the event commencing.

((Gladatorial Games))

The games will be split into two categories, The Knight's Challenge and the Open Competition.

-- Knight's Challenge
Entrants will fight completely stripped of weapons, armor and accessories. Several weapons will be placed on the arena floor which can be retrived after the match begins. Arcane, Divine, and Bardic spells and spell-songs are completely prohibited, as are feats which duplicate these effects. Healing... other than by feat is not permitted. The entrants must remain within the combat area at all times. The fights will not be to the death. Matches will be tournament style with similar levels matched in the first round if possible.

ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE AWARDED 1,000 gold.

Up to Ten PCs may participate, first come, first served, sign-ups may be done either in game or here on the forum.

The Winner of the Knight's Challenge will be rewarded with a monetary prize of 7,500 stags and an unnamed magical item.

-- The Open Challenge
Entrants will be allowed all spells of any nature, entrant will be permitted to have two buffs active before combat begins. Healing by spells, feats or potions is permitted (no healing kits). The fights will not be to the death. Matches will be tournament style with similar levels matched in the first round if possible.

While sneaking through the trading post after an unsuccessful chicken rustling sortie near the crossroads, Malaclypse spots one of the posters. He waits patiently for a few minutes until nobody is paying direct attention to the flyer, then extracts a piece of charcoal from his robes. The elf grins happily as he scrawls a crude picture of Sundren's Steward kneeling to perform fellatio on a bald robed figure, then turns from the notice and continues on his way...

While traveling the lands of Sundren in curiosity Iilithania stumbles into Aquor, finding the interesting little group of people called Thayans.
Smiling a little at the fanciful and 'morally questionable' tales that was summoned from her mind at the sight of the enclave in Aquor, she stumbles across a even more peculiar phenomena, a poster declaring a festival.

Upon closer inspection of the fine print Iilithania searches about to sign herself up for the Open Challenge. A fine oppurtunity to have an excuse to throw curses and practice the moving spellsong that Iilithania loves pouring her soul into.

A very eager human leaves Aquor in hopes of training up for the fight; Maybe there is a chance for the bardess to earn her largest sum of loot she has ever earned herself? Hey, she is free to dream.

Upon seeing the poster Ariel immediately returns to the Blades HQ to find Brother Sain to learn his thoughts on the matter. Hearing that he has entered the competition she then vows that should he fail to arrive, she will be his second. Thus replacing him in the competition should events prove it necessary.

Fresh posters are hung about the various towns and outposts of the valley.

Orlin upon investigating this hoohaa he is now obligated to attend... wonders aloud.

idle mussing aside he returns to investigating more on what this "hoohaa" is all about and what the catch is.
