There are rumors of not simply a dead goblin- one has been found with wounds more ghastly than a normal fighter would leave to have them killed.
Characters heading out to (Spittlefist?) Territory would find one partially hidden under the cuttable tree up on the main hill outside of their cave.
Up close inspection would reveal a rather revolting sight. Rather than a simple killing, this goblin has been taken apart, in little amounts. His face is twisted in a grimmace, his mouth open from his final moments. By waht wounds he had on his arms, and his missing left leg, he had found an opponent who had defeated him first. However, from the healed look of his leg, they had some sort of a clerical background, or healing magics.
The rest of his form, wasn't so lucky, however. His chest had been carefully skinned from the waist up to his neck, in what might be the shape of his tunic, nowhere to be found. The muscles of his chest had been parted very carefully, probably while alive by the mass of blood covering him. Single organs had been removed from the body, and sit some distance away, taken apart some time after the goblin's death. Strangely, this seems to be all that happened to the poor goblin.
The rumored question is..Who might do such a thing? Even to a goblin? Surely, not anyone could take something apart while it was still alive, not like this.
Those who were more perceptive(Gather Information DC 8), They migth realize something is much more off with this scene than first appears, assuming they have made the trek after hearing such a rumor. They would notice all of the nicks, the bruises, and the cut tendons along the arms, and remaining leg of the goblin. With a very close look and some knowledge of goblinkind, they would notice that there is much more blood than a single battle may ensue. This might be explained by careful healing on the part of the culprit, or multiple victims not yet found.
On another note. Why would such a rumor even be circulating? Its possible someone has planted this rumor in an inn to bolster their own reputation, however, nobody can seem to find the original source of the rumor.
