Greetings sirs,
I know you are likely getting a little annoyed at letters from me instead of official reports, but I felt it was best to get to this to your eyes as soon as possible and am currently not in a place where the luxiries of pre-arranged questions and fill-in-the-blank spots are available.
I wish to inform you that known assailant of the Black Hand, Brooke is deceased. I had followed rumors speaking of her attempts to breach the security at the Gate of the Sunderer and escape the valley. I cornered her at the bridge just before the last checkpoint during nightfall.
She was clearly lost to her emotions, and spoke about there being no means for her to be able to live after all she had done. The majority of her ravaged words were difficult to understand, but such was the jist of it. Then, without warning, she drew a blade I had yet to notice and came after me.
I regret that I was left with no other choice but to defend myself. Though I lost track of her after she fell from the bridge into the river during the fight, the final blow I gave pierced her heart and I can personally vouch for her demise. I apologize that things turned out so sloppily done. If it is to your liking, I shall fill out a proper report when I return to the city.
Sincerly,
Private Osclow Wiltenholm
*Shortly after the letter is sent, the bard sends word to his personal non-Legion contacts to seek out the one known as Cazen and inform him that Osclow wishes to speak to him.*
