  • Note to Druid circle

Sent by the use of the Animal Messenger spell:

A songbird bears this message rolled up on its leg:

Druid Circle of the Sundered Lands,

It has come to my attention that fey have openly attacked travelers crossing through the Sharahan Hills. This is a matter of concern for me, as I have rarely heard of fey bearing arms openly to travelers armed and armored with iron.

I do not desire to see any of them slain, and yet to bear such hostility, they must have good cause. I wished to bring the matter up to you - I offered Sellu'Aera my aid once and extend this offer once again.

    Signed,

    Maia Nanethiel,
    Priestess of Solonor Thelandira

The songbird found itself passing over the treelines of Viridale Forest in the early morning, searching for its mark. Then, sensing a potential objective, the bird flittered past the leaves and unsettled a branch, on which a lithe figure was watching the forest from atop a tree. Startled, the slender figure yelped, but managed to retain her composure, a hand firmly holding onto the trunk of the tree. She quickly grasped the bird with her other hand, not ungently, and untangled the note from the bird's feet while whispering quiet, soothing words to the creature.

The figure unrolled the parchment and scanned the words writ thereon. She considered the message again, licking her lip in curious bemusement, and then released the bird, reaching a hand into the folds of her leather outfit, diggring within as sounds of ruffled dried leaves resounded in the quiet air. The figure pulled her hand out again, having found a small fresh berry, and held it out in her palm to the songbird, who proceeded to nibble happily at the fruit, having all but forgotten its interception but a moment ago.

The slender figure then swiftly hopped from the branch upon which she was perched, and swinging past the treetops, disappeared into a backdrop of green leaves contrasted against a bright morning sky.

The bird returned to Maia seeking more food, ignorant of its failure to deliver the letter to the intended recipient.

      Or did it?
