Nailed to a post is a message on parchment paper. The writing is in black ink and characterized by the blocky letters common in the far North.

Posted: Near this very spot a thief did take gold coin in exchange for magical services of identification of a finely crafted Dwarven Waraxe. After exchanging the axe and the gold he fled, returning neither.

If the axe is found, it is the property of Hrothgar and should be returned immedietly. If it is found on the dead body of the thief, all the better!

The scoundrel was a male human, wearing a stupid floppy hat and dressed in brown and grey.

Reward of 200 Gold Coins for the axe, 500 Gold Coins for the head of this thief!
Seek out Hrothgar in or near the town of Port Avanthyr.
