Written in simple, though perfectly neat text, this letter is handed to the Captain of the Watch, personally, directly from the possession of Pyras Demathos. The letter is sealed with symbols of Thay and Sundren alike, showing respect to both parties involved. It reads:
To follow up on that which we had spoken of before, I have organized and recorded the events that transpired in regards to one Vader of Talos, and myself, Pyras Demathos. Although there seemed to have been much that led up to the event itself, I feel that the actual event is of the greatest impact in the pursuit of following the letter of the law, and so I shall begin there.
While attending an educational and combative outing at the grounds of the once proud Necropolis, long since defiled with the presence of undead, I and my Knight, Lauan, managed to push back a great number of the animated corpses. Our service was cut unfortunately short when a man who is recognized under the name "Vader" approached from our flank, and proceeded to attack us both. The dark-skinned Vader was quickly overwhelmed by we who outmatched him, and proceeded to make an attempt at escape by means of an invisibility potion; this was a fruitless effort for the man, however, as both my Knight and I could see him through arcane means. What is perhaps most disturbing in all of this is that, in his failed attempts to escape, Vader did not seek refuge by turning to the road, but rather, he ran deeper through the grounds of the Necropolis until entering the structure itself. Why he finds safety in the halls of the undead remains unknown to me, though it is disturbing all the same.
With my Knight and I in pursuit of the villainous man, it was not long before we caught up to his position. Once inside the structure, his options of mobility were terribly limited, and he was overcome by Lauan with her sword in hand. Having had to dispatch of the zombies that surrounded our position in Vader's wake, we were only inconvenienced before retrieving the body to take it elsewhere. It would have been a foolish idea to leave him in the place that he had fled to for protection, as he would surely be raised - in one way or another. For the better interests of both the Enclave, and Sundren, I decided that at the expense of an expedious retreat, my Knight and myself would remove the corpse to better protect the lands from a persistant threat. The body was taken to the Watch Barracks without delay, and I was of course requested to write this letter to the reasonable captain.
Now, for said captain's convenience, there are many other facts to these happenings that exist outside of that single night at the Necropolis. As it were, long before the demise of Vader, a great many things came to my attention as well as the attention of several others; these things are not mitigating to his circumstances. First and foremost, Vader is a known and proclaimed Stormlord of Talos, and this is a point that bears emphasis, given the audacities committed by the last of his kind to be known well throughout Sundren. In addition to the danger that comes with his very title, it should be noted that he has made direct and open threats against a Red Wizard, the Enclave itself, and even going so far as to repeat such offenses against the nation of Thay. He has been heard and observed by multiple pairs of ears stating that Thay's time would come, and that it would feel the fury of the Stormlord; he went on to say that he would make an attempt on my life to further such intentions, and was witnessed conspiring against myself in the company of others. I should hope that any man who declares himself to be the harbinger of the destruction of the Sundren Enclave will be taken seriously as a threat to the peace and political well-being of this great nation.
With that all being said, I have been in contact with a few of those who have witnessed the atrocious behaviour of this profound threat to the peace, and their reports shall be added to my own, in due time.
