John pauses over the parchment, getting his thoughts in order before writing out in an elegant script:
For the Attention of the Revered Abbot Orlan Proskus,
My good sir, I am a humble entertainer seeking information in this Sundered Land and a mutual acquaintance pointed me towards you. I seek information on a group, or groups, that I have heard little but rumours about but am sure exists. I do not wish to encroach on your most precious of time and humbly ask that if you are willing to grant me an audience or reply to some questions through correspondence that you give a reply to the messenger. He has been instructed to wait.
I remain your humble servant,

He reads it over twice to make sure there are no spelling errors before sealing it up and giving it to the young messenger for delivery.
