  • Letter to Val

    Val,
Saw your poster for wands, scrummy idea as I could really use a new one myself (the ice-beam one is getting boring). Now, what I'd really like is a wand that shoots those magical missiles I like flinging about so much. That's simple enough I'm sure, but firstly, it needs to shoot enough missiles to be worthwhile using (we're talking 3-5 preferably), and secondly, it needs to be able to not run out of missiles in the middle of a fight (I hate it when that happens).
So, mister Evra, what do you say? I've got oodles of cash at the moment so money's no object, and hey you never know, perhaps it'll come in useful to keep your behind covered in some gods-forsaken dungeon some day!
Looking forward to hearing back from you,
    Sammael Redstone, Arcane Scholar [sic]

p.s. what's this nonsense I hear about you being on trial for necromancy or something? Has someone been setting you up???

p.s.s. please send reply to the Sundren library or ask Jimmy to hold it for me behind the bar, I'm in one of those two places most of the time.

Val obligingly hands a note to Jimmy, after which he goes to play blackjack with the dealer for some petty cash. On the note is written:

    Sammael,
Suer, it's simple enough, 50 charges good for you? It fires quite a few missiles, I can't remember off the top of my head, but the problem is this: It costs quite a bit. And I'm talking 7/8 thousand stags here. Personally, I've never really thought magic missiles were really worth that much money, but whatever floats your boat I guess. Besides, I need that money right now - been running around with about 50 scrolls in case some rash paladin decides to come after me because of that godawful rumour.
    Val.
PS. Don't address me as 'Mister Evra' - it's meant to be a secret. No particular reason, but it'd be nice.
