  • Militia Report: Aftermath of the Orcs

A formal report is left on Sergeant Pyke's desk in Daniel's distinctive style of writing. He seems tired when he wrote it, causing it to be slightly less legible than most of his writing, but it's still easy on the eyes overall:

    'Sir,

After the attack on the Port by the orc tribe there were still adventurers lingering about the gate. First and foremost is the well known Anaya, who caused trouble by laying traps along the road and common walking places, traps that could've caused serious, fatal harm to a common citizen. She was warned repeatedly but did not listen in the end and Syl, a fighter of Sune, detained her on my behalf. I was busy dealing with a situation I considered far more dire, although Anaya does not seem to be understanding the error of her ways and contemplation should be put into greater punishment if she does not desist.

I was dealing with a woman, who currently I cannot give a name to, who was wearing the armor of a female watchman. I assumed she was simply a militiawoman who'd returned from scouting at first; however, I overheard a conversation she was having with another citizen and found that she wasn't a guard. From her words she got the armor by beating a guard to death and taking it, or something to that effect. Regardless, she was going to be taken to be presented to Recruiter Patrick or yourself, Sergeant Pyke, at which point a commander whose name I do not know approached the scene and asked why things were in such disorder. I was currently caught between three tasks, however he graciously took the woman off my hands.

I went and spoke with Anaya, who was being held by Syl. Anaya was, as normal, non-responsive and uncooperative as often as she could be. Detaining her had been a problem and I believe Syl had to go as far as to fire an arrow into her leg to stop her. Normally I would not condone such force, however Anaya wasn't severely injured and she was indeed warned repeatedly. Anaya does not seem to want to change her ways. I holster faith she could be taught the error of her ways, though such a path would take time. My main concern is not Anaya, who seems to be a petty thief, but rather the woman wearing the armor of a militiawoman.

The captain I was dealing with convinced her she was going to be compensated for the armor, which prompted her to agree to the situation, I believe. I followed orders and went to take her to have her compensated for her troubles, yet before I could do anything, I found her running. Though I could not keep her within the city gates, I tracked her down into the foothills in the east. There I rushed through the goblins for the most part with the aid of Syl, though it required more combat than I'd like, and caught up with her.

The woman seemed to be friends with two male dwarves and wouldn't listen to my requests for her to peacefully have the armor compensated. One of the dwarves suggested, or seemed to suggest, that they'd willingly fight myself and Syl because we were, "A long way from town." Though I wouldn't have enjoyed a fight, it seemed to be going that way until a clergyman of Bane appeared. The events that transpired, enclosed in a different report, eventually lead to the escape of the woman and her party. This concerns me as there is now a woman who can pass herself off as a member of the militia freely as she has a full set of armor.

    Signed,
    Recruit Reyer'

*Sergeant Jon Pyke is highly upset by this report, on top of losses sustained from the recent attack. He announces that he will not suffer such imposters to walk free for long.*

Reports flow in from scouts out from Sundren that the group that attacked was simply a small band of marauders. The guards wounded in the attack were very few. The remainder of the marauding forces were later intercepted and slain.
