Greetings my friend,
In my wanderings I have once again encountered several of the fungus monsters - this time with several witnesses. I tried to preserve a sample but was thus far unsuccessful. We tried to knock out the creature and subdue it, but were unsuccessful. All remains and spores were then expunged using magical fire. I managed to collect reports from others who had encountered the fungal beasts, alas they had not used fire to prevent the spores from spreading. Collating these reports led to the construction of this map (admittedly more of a sketch). We also investigated the myconid caves again, due to one being found outside, but once again they still seem uninvolved. Oh, one more thing - the orcs and gnolls of the Viridale seem to have little love for the monsters, and are attacking them on sight.

I hope this information is useful to you.
Kind regards,
Elyore Dazzleboot
