A letter is delivered to the Blackwood Barracks at Mirakus Post, addressed to Ansellus. The handwriting is crisp and neat, as well as easily recognizable as River's.

Dear Ansellus,
I hope this missive finds you in good health, and somewhat better rested than the last time we had the opportunity to speak. I understand that your schedule is extremely crowded, and with that I have both distinct understanding, and boundless empathy- it seems true rest remains so far into the future that it may yet prove to be a fable, rather than something obtainable.
While I am loathe to make demands on your time, I must confess that your council and company is of such value to me that the lack of it has been downright palpable- and so if it is at all within your power, I would like to request some of your time, at your earliest convenience of course.
I am attempting to arrange a sort of "Town Hall" meeting for the candidates and the populace of Aquor. Rather than having all who are running sputter and argue needlessly at one another, it seems to me that Aquor would benefit more from her people getting to ask their own questions, and getting direct answers. Mind, I realize that's an idealized version of what's liable to occur.... but this is a small city, and so a more personal touch is needed.
Of course, when this event occurs, I will certainly want you by my side- not only to deter any possible foul play, but so that the people are able to meet you. After all, when questions of Aquor's defense arise, it will be to you they will look to, eventually (aside from my own personal faith in your abilities, the decision is sound- nobility matters within the valley and your family and background give weight and credence to our combined goals).
If it is possible to meet beforehand, however, I would be forever grateful- I am hoping to arrange a time where you, I and Pappa Dryn can sit down. We have a plan of commerce, noble ideals and long term goals- but what we distinctly lack is defining the defenses of the city within the short term. Ideally, as commerce brings in new taxes, we will be in a position to have a paid militia, but that is some time in the future... leaving the city essentially with it's pants down if they do in fact vote me in. You can be assured that the Legion will be very, very quick to point that out, and use it against us. Drimson, it seems, has made it his personal mission to make sure that the City not "fall into my hands", as I am apparently a dastardly villain.
It may be we will not be able to all meet at the same time, but I believe discussing these issues face to face is still a matter of some urgency. Please respond when you are soonest able, and let me know if and when you may be available.
Until then, know that a letter is cold comfort to your company. I look forward to seeing you soon.
With warmest wishes and regards,
River
