A letter is delivered to Whurest Hold, written in the firm but elegant hand that is easily recognized as belonging to one particular half elf.
6 Uktar, 1382 Dale Reckoning
To His Highness Thane Dryn Stonewhisperer of Whurest
Dearest Pappa,
The situation in Aquor begins to reach a palpable tension as it seems more and more irons get placed into the fire of this election. To date, Sandro has maintained his air of typical Thayan superiority, and were the Legion not present I would say that arrogance will have him surely doomed.
However, the Legion's presence cannot be denied. I foresee this going in one of two directions, frankly... what seems most feasible is that the Legion continues to support the Thayan claim, and because the citizens of Aquor have deep and valid concerns regarding the safety and defense of the city, it is possible that even with his obvious venom for the lowly man, Sandro's claim could prove the stronger.
There are also rumors of Centurio Drimson attempting to enter the race- I know not how well founded these are, but per our last discussion we both know how that will open up a door for devilry the likes of which Aquor has never seen. I have no idea how effective Chime will be- or, frankly, if she will even attempt what we hope. Either way, we must have a contingency plan.
I understand that you are seeking to gain Exigo's endorsement of my bid- the sooner this can happen, the better. In a world of uncertainty, both Whurest and Exigo will seem a solid rock upon which Aquor can stand- all the defense in the world means nothing, after all, if the people of the city are ill fed and have no livelihood.
Of course there are some of the villagers that have also put their name in to run, as well as Brigadier Tyrannus Blackbeard. Needless to say, despite his.... ah... compelling campaign posters, I've little worry- he is, after all, directing people to find him in the bush he sleeps in.
I am sending a missive to Ansellus de Vesci, as he has recently returned to the valley (thank all the gods), in order to seek his council regarding Aquor's defenses- if I am able to secure some time in his schedule to meet, I would dearly desire your presence as well. Should the Town Meeting I have planned come to pass, I know there will be many difficult questions placed before me, and I wish to provide the citizens of Aquor answers that are not typical political drivel.
Please respond at your earliest convenience, although I know your schedule is equally crowded. I look forward to hearing from you, or seeing you soon. Your company is sorely missed, as always.
May Stone Keep You always, Pappa
