  • Letter for Allan Reyne

A small letter is left at the Thayan Enclave for a man of Allan's description.

I apologize for not knowing your name, but I recall your asking into reading some of the material I've penned. I understand that it isn't the greatest writing in the world, nor is it everyone's preference. However, I hope it provides a modicum of entertainment at the very least.

Accompanying the succinct note is a suede journal that was only recently purchased, and the freshness of the ink scribed within suggests that the author jotted everything down in a few sleepless evenings of work. Only a very small selection of the journal's poetry and sonnets covers happier topics: survival, joy, romance, kin and strength of faith.

The vast majority are funerary psalms --- each predated with a deceased's name, cause of death, time of death and place of burial --- with the oldest record being circa 1190 DR. While there's a generous mix of humans and elves familiar to the author among the interred, there are more unnamed Zhentarim agents and highwaymen than anything else.

It appears that every tenant of the graveyards of Sestra, Viridale, Aquor, the Necropolis, Mossdale and Sundren's capital are listed with something devoted to their memory. Several major events in the valley's history, such as the Battle for Arbiter's Stand and the Day of Broken Blades, are also honored in detail.

When Allan comes across the note, and the journal, he quickly reads the note, and begins flipping through the pages of the journal. When he comes across the funerary psalms, he slows down a bit, and reads more thoughtfully. After about two hours, he pens a note in return and leaves it with Alfonz for a female Elf matching Lasvi's description.

    Lasvi,
Thank you for allowing me to take a look at your works. Funerary psalms are a favourite of mine, so the contents of your journal were a pleasant surprise. It will certainly be interesting to look at. I look forward to the next time we meet. Until then, may the winds guide you to fortune.

We can axe if we want to, leave that sword behind. Because your friends don't axe, and if they don't axe then they're no friends of mine.
