  • Letter for Aeron Ancrath

A short message written on cheap vellum is left for Aeron at a previously disclosed dead drop location the next time he visits it. The flowery, feminine script doesn't take to Common too well and is littered with excessive tails, alluding to the author's preference for calligraphy or writing in another language.

It may come as a surprise considering the dilapidated, shamshackle appearance of the author from memory.

    Honored Magus Ancrath,

It has come to my attention that one of your more public benefactors, one Thresh Starweaver who represents the Tuatha dé Dúlra, has recently entertained questionable guests in the sanctity of Viridale Forest. As this is a perceived haunt of your own and I wish to maintain our favorable business relationship, I saw fit to warn you ahead of time in case the Tuatha's assessment of a potential threat is incorrect.

The exact nature of the creature witnessed meeting with Starweaver eludes me, though it is by my understanding that most benevolent, sentient creatures capable of speech have long since vacated the wood after the corruption and subsequent destruction of the druid conclave. This lanky, withered crone of a woman betrayed a less-than-human appearance and her exaggerated features give the allusion of feylike quality.

Understand that we may not have been the only party privy to this secret meeting, and the integrity of the Tuatha may be at risk if this information reaches the ears of Port Avanthyr or Sestra. I presently withhold judgement and would eternally appreciate your learned insight due to your regular contact with Starweaver, should you prove willing to offer it.

    Sincerely,
    O.M.H.

Another personal letter is left for Aeron at their arranged dead drop location.

    Honored Magus Ancrath,

As a preface to this letter, allow me to offer my congratulations on the success of your recent endeavor and a formal apology if my input was either unexpected or unwanted. It was never my intention to negatively impact our business relationship by revealing the Moth Oira traitor for who she was. I hope this finds you in good health and you have recovered from the draining experience that crafting the orb was.

It has come to my attention that one of your colleagues --- one Danté Swift of the Hands of Mundus --- has resurfaced on the valley floor after an amount of time cloistered away from Sundren's affairs. He has proven to be a proactive man, for almost immediately he has been seen contacting the Exarch of Sestra for asylum. This is a worrying affair as one archmage is currently residing in Port Avanthyr.

Have you been offered restitution from the Exarch in exchange for your assistance? We have need of knowing the extent of power at play if the port and Black Hand territories come to physical confrontation with one-another, in order to protect our investments. If it is not too much trouble, I would also like to request a current list of your stock of apprentices to keep our records up-to-date.

    Sincerely,
    O.M.H.

A tinier note than usual, strangely enough, is deposited for Aeron's collection.

      Honored Magus Ancrath,

I hope this message does not arrive unwanted, and it would please me to know that you read it with a light heart. Allow me to properly thank you for your assistance thusfar, both professed and physical, and allay any concerns surrounding my intentions. Indeed, I write on behalf of my organization to inquire into your willingness to perform a small service for us.

Do understand that this is something only you can do, and I have no wish to abuse our relationship unnecessarily over trivial things. Please let me know when you are next available and I'll inform you at length in person.

      Sincerely,
      O.M.H.
