Missive Delivered to the Avanthyr Keep

Dryn hand delivers a missive addressed to Lady Evelyn Meriadoc, presenting a bound and sealed paper scroll to one of Meriadoc's own House Guard.

It reads:

Lady Meriadoc,

May this letter find you well. I have heard rumors of your comings and goings throughout the valley however, Vergadain has not saw fit to favor me with our paths crossings.

I would like to sit down with you in order to discuss several matters. Some new and some old. I omit the subjects of these discussion purposefully as this missive is yet likely to be carried by many hands.

My travels bring me into the valley for the coming week. Leave word for me at Murin's or come by his brewery at sunset. You will likely find me there with stein in hand.

Once again Dryn returns to Avanthyr Keep. This time, however, he delivers a scroll prepared with some level of artistry, being bound and sealed with twin iron bands bearing the sigil of Whurest.

The scroll is given over to House Meriadoc staff with the old dwarf stating, "See this delivered to Lady Evelyn Meriadoc," before turning and making the long return journey down the Keep's staircase.

Unrolling the scroll the good Lady would find a small missive enclosed atop a formal trade agreement.

Lady Meriadoc,

Enclosed with this letter is a drafting of the trade agreement we spoke of a number of days ago. I am hopeful you will find that these terms carefully weighed and of mutual best interest.

I await your and Avanthyr's response.

The following Contract serves as a declaration of trade between House Meriadoc of Avanthyr and ExiCorp (Whurest) for a period of 2 years, with option to persist.

Whereas both parties wish to engage in trade; and Whereas both parties being of honorable intent and sound judgement; and Whereas both parties acknowledge the laws of Sundren Valley; Now, therefore, the parties are hereby bound by law and honor to uphold the following trade agreement:

Whurest agrees to:

Supply stone and other materials suitable for construction to House Meriadoc of Avanthyr at fair market value.

Provide four craftsmen and two engineers to plan and oversee construction projects within Avanthyr.

Provide basic masonry and upkeep instruction to laborers within Avanthyr.

Pay half of the associated fees and taxes to conduct this trade and shipping under ExiCorp. These fees and taxes shall total no more than 10% of this contracts overall value PLUS no more that 5% of the value of goods shipped from Avanthyr to Aquor.

In exchange, House Meriadoc of Avanthyr agrees to:

Supply preserved (pickled, salted) food stuffs, at fair market value, and platinum trade bars in equal value to the supplies of stone and craft services provided by Whurest and its laborers.

Provide basic shipwrighting instruction to Whurest craftsmen and engineers stationed within Avanthyr.

Provide safe and comfortable lodgings for Whurest laborers stationed within Avanthyr.

Finance or provide a security detail for Whurest craftsmen stationed in Avanthyr as well as for ExiCorp trade caravans delivering goods from Avanthyr to Aquor, for the duration of this contract. Should House Meriadoc of Avanthyr elect to finance, an agreement between Whurest and Blackwood Company will be enacted implicitly for no more than the number of Mercenaries indicated on the line below.

Pay half of the associated fees and taxes to conduct trade and shipping under ExiCorp. These fees and taxes shall total no more than 10% of this contracts overall value PLUS no more that 5% of the value of goods shipped from Avanthyr to Aquor.

In the event of conflict, Whurest laborers shall be escorted by the aforementioned private security detail out of Avanthyr to Whurest’s facility within Schild.

Should one or more of the the signed parties fail to live up to the requirements of this contract shall render said contract void, the guilty Part/Parts having to pay damages in form of a double shipment of trade goods, without recompense.
