  • A hand delivered letter to the Temple of Lathander

    Dear Eilatris Shieldheart,

As you already know, we who defend Sundren city and the valley at large from the Darkness that threatens it, are going on the offence. I humbly ask for the aid of your Dawnknights in our march. I myself have seen a single vampire cut through many Triad Knights and also seen vampires turned to mist from the rebuke of a single Dawnbringer. Without your aid, many soldiers of goodly gods are going to be cut to shreds by these vampires who are allied with the Banite threat.

If we loose this battle to come, Then I would fear a counter attack and this valley will succumb to darkness. Leaving the few goodly churches outside Sundren City to fend for themselves. Again I respectfully and humbly ask for the aid of your Dawnknights.

The priestess receives the letter in her good hand and slowly, delicately opens it after the soldier has left. Upon reading it, she limps toward the basement, down short steps and through a sparse barracks, where she delivers it to a middle-aged woman, straight of posture and firm of muscle, her straw hair hewn just past her jawline.

Lianna Morningstar takes the note without the delicacy of the priestess, quickly reads it, and then moves to a counter, beneath which rests an impressive array of wines and liquors. She flips the page over and scrawls on its back.

    "Immunes,

My Order numbers seven. I get the sense that you think we have a lot more to commit than we do. We appreciate you thinking of us, but honestly, we don't have the numbers to check in to a whole nest of vampires. I'll put the word in to my knights, and if any of them want to join you of their own accord, they're welcome to, but I won't be deciding for them.

May the new dawn light a better path for you and yours,

    L. Morningstar"
