  • A letter to Rosalyn Leafall

A sealed letter on good parchment, impressed with a seal of a blade in fire, arrives in a farm deep inside the Viridale forest addressed to Rosalyn Leafall:

    Dear Ros,

I arrived in Neverwinter already, still, I don't have any clue about my sister yet. Thankfully I got enough gold to spend a time seeking for her. I hope she still alive, if I find her, I will take her to the farm with her family. I don't remember her face that well but, I think I will just know if I find her.

Anyway... how is Krista, mother, father, Haelund and you? I hope Krista is not getting in trouble, please take care of her.

I miss you damn hard Ros, be safe and may the nature be your guide.

If you wish to send me a letter, I am in a Inn called Sun Shine Always ( is not it that sweet? ).

    Love you all!

    Signed: Quy

Rosalyn receives the letter with great excitement as she has been very worried about her friend. Wasting no time, she gathers up her writing implements and settles down to write a response. Leaning against a large oak, one leg curled under her, and her wolf at her feet, she rests the parchment on the wolf's back. The wolf looks at her, clearly annoyed, but he doesn't move.

"Oh relax, Xag! Like you don't use my feet as your pillow!"

    Dearest Quy,

I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am to know that you are safe and well. I am sorry you have yet to find your sister, though I know you will continue to search with fervent determination. I can think of nothing more joyous than having all your family with you, and I cannot wait to meet your sister and her family.

Krista is her usual self, full of sunshine and music! I've been keeping an eye on her when I can. Everyone else is fine, especially me, Quy. I have so much to tell you! I wanted to wait to tell you in person, but I simply cannot keep this next bit of news until you return.

Haelund and I are married! We were thinking of having a proper ceremony, but then we decided it would take too long to organize. Not wanting to wait another second, we married in the most natural way possible - just two people, professing their love and commitment to one another for life. Haelund gave me the most amazing ring, though, as a symbol of our union.

Not all news is good, though. Kollotta came upon Haelund and I at our little campsite in the Viridale. She warned us of an advance by an undead army. Soon enough those foul abominations were attacking us! We tracked their source all the way to that disgusting blight, the Necropolis, and found the temple there burning and bodies strewn everywhere. Sadly, we couldn't help anyone inside the temple.

Once at the Necropolis, however, Haelund and I were distracted from our investigation by the oddest event. The elf, Raknarius, tried to kidnap me! Using brute strength he tried to pull me away from Haleund. I believe he thought the place unsafe for me and had some foolish notion that Haelund couldn't protect me. Foolish men! Why do think they we need protection all the time? Anyway, a tug of war, with me as the rope, was the result, until Haelund, finally having had enough, struck at Raknarius. In this I can't blame him. I assure you, if some crazy female was putting his hands on my husband, there would be no shortage of violence. Really though, I admire Haelund's restraint. He has quite the temper, you know, but amazing control over it! I believe it was fortunate I asked him to hold back, or he would have struck down Raknarius long ago.

Anyway, by that time, a crowd had gathered, and so, exhausted from our long efforts in defending the forest from the undead, we decided to let some of the others worry about the Necropolis.

Oh! I must end this now, Quy, for someone approaches. I do hope you stay safe and return to us quickly.

    Love,

    Ros

      Dearest Ros,

I am so happy to know that you and Haelund are married, a shame I didn't see that, and it's good to know that everybody is alright.

Ros, please be careful with those undeads, if they were able to burn the temple down, it means that things are going much worse than I thought it could go.

Oh, and I have good news. I was walking around in Neverwinter and a drunk guy called me by my sister's name, he said that I seemed much younger than last time he saw me, I couldn't hold my laugh, but, I did not wait to ask about my sister, and my guesses were right. The drunk guy is a friend of her husband and he told me that she lives in a house in front of a tailor shop, he said me the name of the shop but I am still looking for this damn shop that I can't find at all. But it's alright, I won't give up and I hope I find her soon and get back for you all in the farm.

Love you all and please stay safe!

        Holy Gods Ros!

I found her!!! I found my sister, I am so happy, you should have seen my happiness face, my guesses were right, she didn't know I was alive.

When we saw each other the world just stopped, we both knew since our eyes crossed the way and we ran to each... What the hells am I doing writing it?

        I'M GOING HOME!

        Love, Quy

After reading Quy's last letter, Rosalyn shakes her head in amusement at her friend's exclamations. With no need to write a response, she tucks the letter in her pack and heads off to find her husband and tell him the good news.
