  • Letter to Sandro

A small basket is left at the official quarters of Sandro at the Thayan Enclave. Included in the basket are assorted edible sundries, a bottle of fine Sundarian wine, and a sealed handwritten scroll.

To the order of High Arcanist Sandro,

Good eve to you, sir. We have not yet met, but as a gesture of my good intentions, I do hope you find the food and wine to your liking.

It has been recommended by one of my superiors that I contact you for information regarding a specific type of arcane knowledge. It is believed that your background and expertise in this matter would be highly valued and thankfully, I think I may have the means of cognition to hold a conversation with you regarding such matters.

If this interests you, please forward a correspondence to the Second Wind Inn. I have a room there, and the barkeep will know which one to forward it to.

I look forward to the pleasure of your company.

    Sincerely,

    ~ Mhaaj

Sandro rummages through the contents of the basket with a puzzled look, before turning to a waiting servant.

"Bring this swill to the gnoll pens, and if any of them die of poisoning let me know."

Turning back to his desk, he pens a response to the enclosed letter.

    Master Mhaaj,

Thank you for the lovely gift basket, I enjoyed it thoroughly. In regards to your request, I must humbly admit that it is true that I possess a great deal of knowledge in many arcane matters. The Enclave prides itself on being a bastion of exotic and esoteric knowledge. Should you wish to visit and make your request in person, I will gladly hear you out. In the unlikely event I am unable to help you directly, I am certain I could direct you to another who could. However, your letter implies you seek information particular to my background, and if that is the case I promise you I am the second greatest authority in the valley, surpassed only by our glorious Khazark. I look forward to your visit and the promised intellectual chat.

A reply finds its way back to the Enclave, forwarded from the Second Wind Inn. The slave will find no notable signs of foul play with the gnoll's ingestion of the gifts.

      High Arcanist,

I appreciate your swift reply. I look forward to our interaction in person, and while your redirection towards a more knowledgeable individual is too kind, I have been directed to seek you personally per request from my superior.

I understand you may be a rather busy individual attending to your own affairs, so I propose the following. I shall stop by the Enclave on (assigned day) at (assigned time) and we can discuss this in person.

I have a feeling that your level of knowledge in these matters will prove invaluable. If the above date and time will not work for you, by all means, inform me of when you are free. If you do not reply, I will assume this date and time is to your liking and fits within your schedule.

I look forward to speaking with you.

      ~ M
(( Send me a message of your available dates/times over the next week, and I'll see if I can sync some time to get a meeting going on. ))
