Guild Leader Ryzad Kalim,

I have met with Thane Dryn Stonewhisperer in hopes of securing some new contracts for the company. The Thane has explained that he wishes to contract Blackwood for another expedition into the mountains. He also has stressed that there have been threats towards his hold and that there may be new attacks on those who would travel north other than the usual threats.

With this new threat I would like to assign some new men to our northern trade caravans to Whurest. There are few men I have in mind and if it approved I would have them join me on the patrol with the caravans. Im sure there are a few grunts who would be happy to be assigned elsewhere and make room for my soldiers in mind.

The Thane also mentioned a planned contract that he had talked with Lord Byrun van Hellstrom about, a plan to hire willing mercenaries in the retaking of their Dwarven halls. If this is a venture you wish to capitalize on he said he would speak to you about the matter now that Lord Hellstrom has stepped down from his position as Commander.

On the matter of the Commanders leave, I also wished to know if the company will be announcing who will be taking the position soon? If I may say that if Guild Elite Reeds was placed in Command it would be a great honor indeed to fight under one such renowned as he.

If you have further orders I will be staying at the Barracks in Mirakus Post.

A closer relationship with the dwarven hold of Whurest is something I think we can all agree should be encouraged, we already provide a large portion of coverage to their trading partners, ExiCorp. While there are many dangers in the mountains I am sure our noble body of soldiers is capable of dealing with its threats for both caravans and more specific endeavors.

In the absence of former Commander Hellstrom myself and Guild Elite Reeds will continue to operation of our proud mercenary operation, however it is my hope that another will soon rise from the ranks to take over the day to day business of the guild.

In the dealings with the dwarves of Whurest and their various needs I feel that you are perhaps the best suited to the task, do what you can to further your negotiations with Thane Stonewhisperer and keep us advised, should you and he need to meet with myself or Guild Elite Reeds then we will be glad to do so.

I have continued conversations with Thane Stonewhisperer as you instructed and he has agreed to meet with you to talk terms of an agreement on hiring Blackwood forces. When I last talked with Guild Elite Reeds he said that you were away on business so I told the Thane that you may still be away so he understands if the meeting may be delayed until you have returned. If you wish me to inquire anything else before a meeting is decided on I will meet with the Thane again if I receive such a reply.

I hope that your business travel was successful and wish you further luck if you are still away.
