It is with much regret I'm writing to resign my position as the Commander of the Blackwood Company. It's been an honor to serve you and I hope that my accomplishments have a louder voice than my failures.

I am not sure how long the Blackwood can continue to maintain neutrality. I'm not sure why the people of this Valley believe that ideals and ideals alone can protect and feed families. There seems to be a subtle expectation that the Company should simply do as asked for some Greater Good. I believe the State has managed to get to my wife in attempt to sway the decisions of the Blackwood. I hope that my resignation will help you stay true to the Company's ideal of offering our talented mercenaries good pay for the quality services they provide.

May the Lord of Battles favor you and the Helping Hand see you safely to your destination.

It is with more than considerable regret that I take your resignation, it will remain on my desk for a period, should you decide that it was submitted in error.

In the case that you continue with your decision then I wish you the best in your future endeavours, your tenure with Blackwood has had many more ups than downs and I and your men will speak well of your qualities to all those who have an ear to hear them.

It is inevitable that any conflict involving our troops will mean we are seen to take a side, so long as that side is paying well then there is little to worry over. Our reputation is for fine soldiers who are worth the money we ask, our reputation is forged from decisive action, successful skill at arms and our honest conduct. Showing the occasional favour to those who've paid us well enough in the past and are likely to do so again does us no harm.

Keep well Lord Hellstrom, and should you desire it I will do my uptmost to accommodate any meeting or dialogue you desire.
