  • A letter to Esmond Aurelianus

Thresh lofts a candle from across her desk, the tired looking elf sighing across her parchment mess. The sealing wax is dripped over the folds of a scroll, and a ring is dainty pressed to the still warm wax, and the insignia of Tuatha De Dulra is soon proudly holding the parchment closed.

The small elf steps outside the Second Wind, her large golden eyes focused on the moon for a few moments. Her trek takes her up the road, and her hands deliver the scroll to a young man in Avanthyr's streets. He looked hungry, and the elf desperate for some means to help him. Five gold gifted to the youth as he's sent on his way with a firm promise to see the letter delivered. To the Order of theNorthern Watch. To find its way into the hands of Esmond Aurelianus, gods willing.

It's scented lightly of citrus, a pleasant odor of a lemon carried on it. Whether this was to ward animals, or to simply be a much more welcomed thing, it certainly would be a characteristic that would stick out. The letter reads as follows, the sealing wax untouched by the youth that once held it. After-all, he wouldn't he get paid if he peeked, trailed by a suspiciously fat bunny hopping behind him

To Lord Aurelianus, Commander of the Northern Watch,

Forgive me should I have failed in your title. I don't believe we've ever met, though I can say I've met your sister a few times now fire-side at the Second Wind. I'd like to say a few things, before I get started.

For one, I appreciate your efforts surrounding the valley. It's very troubling times, and though I have not personally benefited of your cause or even of Avanthyr's? I'm still glad to see devotion to this land, and clear-headed thinking is till something that fits into the master plans of some.

In particular, your efforts on the behalf of a Josie Tam of the Legion were something I paid much attention to. The girl may or may not see her request done, but that is another matter entirely sir.

I write seeking a audience with you. I will not claim to be the sole voice of Tuatha De Dulra, merely a acolyte as many others. But there are troubling things being spoken in the valley. And troubling things happening right inside of the sky-lofted city above. It is in these fashions of times that we should breed strong bonds of diplomacy with one another.

Should my olive branch be accepted, and talk something you desire sir, I may be reached by letter at the Second Wind Inn, room 4. These are only talks, and expect nothing from invitation to speak as nothing but that. A opportunity to discuss things on the table with one another. I hope none of this comes as obtrusive, or demanding. We owe each other nothing. Which is frankly, the best way to begin things.

    May we speak soon, sir,
    Thresh, the Starweaver
I can't tell you enough how happy I am to escape.

A letter is returned several days later to the Second Wind Inn, Room Four.

    To Miss Thresh,

I came across this letter whilst vetting the Lord's incoming correspondence, and I write to inform you that I spoke with him regarding your request. The Lord has agreed to meet with you, but as affairs of duty and nobility conspire to busy him, needs must such a meeting be held here in the Port.

Should you find this agreeable, make your way to Avanthyr's Hold and one of the Northern Watch will alert Grandmaster Aurelianus to your presence.

    Regards,
    Sir Kimaris
