A courier delivers a simple letter to the dwarven fortress of Whurest. It is addressed to the "Honorable Dwarven Council."
Warm winds to you all,
I have been gifted with two magical weapons by the wandsmith, Thresh, and her divine ally, Michael. I am told these are weapons of the "Granite Guard" - artifacts of your people.
My intent is pure and simple: I wish to open a museum in Aquor to share the stories and history of Sundren with the common man. I am a collector of all things wonderful - art, military regalia, magical artifacts, and anything else that holds the stories of Sundren and its wonderful people. You are no doubt part of those people, and no doubt have wonderful stories to share.
I know they are important to your people; I will gladly return them to the families' of the deceased if it will bring them joy and comfort. However, I believe they will do greater good under my care, so I formally request your permission to place them on display.
I also request to authenticate the legitimacy of these weapons officially with documentation from your people. More importantly, I humbly request an audience with a historian who can tell me about your people and their deeds. I would like to know the stories of the "Granite Guard" and share them with our nation. There are many who would benefit hearing these tales, and sharing these tales would no doubt bring more glory upon your people.
I anxiously await your reply. You may find me at my residence above the Flagon in Aquor.
With thanks,
Maverick Bell
