  • A letter to the Helmite leaders

    Dear Watchers,

I have recently come under thorough insult by one of your Inquisitors. A Vincent Hopkins, who at the Second Wind Inn, decided to repulsively spit dribble about witches in his midst, and personally insult my honor as a practiced, and responsible arcanist. Claiming I'd be cleansed, and that I had embraced filth as a practitioner of the arcane.

I will preach of the goodly deeds of Duncan Valentine, the Tormite. Who in this time of distress, came to end the conflict peacefully. But the man Vincent Hopkins needs to be taught respect, not just for arcana, but in his words. He sully all your names with him, with his broad accusations, and ramblings about witches, does not do the fair and even judgement of Helm any justice.

I trust this matter will be seen to. Good day, and three guide you.

I can't tell you enough how happy I am to escape.

An informal reply is sent back, a simple bit of folded parchment sealed with wax, addressed to Thresh.

    Thresh,

I'll see to it that the enthusiasm is brought down to respectful levels. It is our duty to serve and protect, to ensure that the citizens both are safe, and feel safe. Causing scenes by verbally assaulting law-abiding citizens who have done no ill is counter-productive to that duty. Do you know if this man is a member of the Sundren Chapter, or a member of one of the many Churches outside of the Valley?

If you are accosted by him again before I find occasion to speak with him, please inform the man that Sentinel Kimaris wishes to speak with him, and he's wanted in Port Avanthyr immediately.

      Dear Kimaris,

I wish I could tell you. I can't imagine he's of Sundren's chapter, as he was flagrantly disrespecting the great feat of making a city fly, claiming it should have burned instead rather then rely upon magic.

However, I will make sure that light word is spread, and that everyone understands it's non-violent in nature, that he'd do well to report to Avanthyr rather then blindly charging about the valley.

Thank you for this fast reply. My apologies my letter could not be one of gentler event this day.
