Letters of Introduction to the Temple of Selūne, Avanthyr

A pair of rolled letters wrapped with a silver ribbon arrive at the Temple of Selūne.

One is sealed with the symbol of the Temple of the Lady, Waterdeep, while the other is sealed plainly.

Silver Blessings upon you, my name is Erik Halfgar and I am most recently of Waterdeep, where I have received training at the Temple of Our Lady. Unfortunately, I bear a curse of our Lady's sister and I would not bring such a taint into Our Lady's hallowed ground.

The Temple in Waterdeep was unable to remove the curse, but Our Lady keeps it from spreading. I've contacted with the Hands of Mundus, who I believe to have a cure for my curse.

I am a natural spellcaster of no small talents, and have passed through this valley once before, where I was saved at brought to Selūne's light by the sorceress, and later favored, Melissa Selina. I have since received classical training from the Waterhavian Temple. Although I labor to remove my own suffering, I wish to also extend myself, and my services, to the causes deemed just by the faithful in Sundren.

I am currently lodging in the Menacing Mariner with my companion, Rigel. Accompanying this is a letter of introduction from the Temple of Our Lady.

It saddens me to hear of your situation and I wish you the best with this curse you carry. If able, the church is willing to aid. But with curses comes the need of caution and I ask you not to visit till the nature and severity of this curse is discovered. I have no desire to put the entire port in harms way to aid one. However, I am willing to ask one of our clergy to meet with you.

Once matters of this curse are addressed, we can begin talking about matters of the temple. A new enemy has been seen in the valley and under our good moonlight. I speak of the werewolf.
