  • A Missive to the Elite Magus

Elite Magus Sir, I seek an time with you that we may speak on the matter concerning my banishment. Through lessons from officials of state and knowledge passed by Templars and other high officials of Church, I hope to once again serve Sundren City and the State. I've come to understanding the my actions to protect the Drow was one of ignorance. I seek that in some way we may come to a understanding of how I may prove that I am once again of useful service to Sundren and it's people, and hopefully regain entry to the city so I may once again join my Brothers and Sisters of the Church. Whenever possible, it would be greatly appreciated if I may take up a small bit of your time.

    --- Drake Sellent.

After a long morning stretch of duties at the Gate of the Sunderer, and with a small spark of curiosity between the crows’ feet of his eyes, a man by the name of Kaldun finds the letter among other incomplete deliveries due to faulty addresses next to his station. He plucks the parchment up from the bottom of the bin and proceeds to annoy fellow Hands of his rank throughout the day, asking them if they happen to be “The Elite Magus” or not.

With the rest of his day’s tasks complete, the old Hand passes off a letter with the sole address of “To the Drake Sellent, at a Church” to a messenger leaving the portal room off the Gate. Perhaps with Tymora’s grace it may even find the recipient. More than likely, it would have gone no further than the Temple of Lathander by the LaCroix manor.

    Mister Drake Sellent,

If the true and honest mistakes of a mage confusing one utterance of a spell for another would excuse him lighting a fellow friend ablaze, and believing the sureness of a conjured devil’s promises of no harm would excuse his fiend from birthing a cult of accursed followers, then I suppose the Towers would be much more appreciated in this day and age. As it is, if your superiors do so trust in the wholesome nature of your heart, and would permit their own honor to be bound to your actions, then I suppose your Church superiors may find it fitting write an appropriate missive to the forces of the Legion that guard the gates, and to the parties responsible for the decision to revoke your passage.

    Sincerely,
Elite Magus Kaldun of the Left Hands of Mundus
