  • Letters to the Tenth Legion, Temple of Lathander, and Whurest

The letters are neatly written, delivered in plain envelopes. The return address is listed at the Second Wind.

I write to you now with concerns that I bear for those in your ranks of (The Temple of Lathander/The Legion/Whurest). This past evening, I was enjoying myself at the Second Wind, only to have a rather ominous figure to appear. He spoke briefly, and expressed some resentment toward a member of The Temple of Lathander... It became rather clear that the parties were at odds and he gave the Lathandrite a chance to leave, and spare us all the horrors that he would unleash.. However, with the aid of a Legionaire, and a member of Whurest, they decided to verbally instigate the individual, as well as preparing to attack... Now, I would never say they should simply let an opposing force walk all over them.. But the deed put the lives of many innocents in danger for their carelessness. In hindsight, I should have fled further from the conflict at this point..

After the ensuing fight, where I was wounded in the crossfire, I informed the trio I was less then pleased at the disregard for the owners property, and the saftey of all in the area... To which I was verbally assaulted, being called an idiot, coward, and my affiliations with the figure questioned repeatedly.. Such behavior is unbecoming of your stations, and I trust you can see the reasons for my concern. I can only hope those involved can be instructed to do their best to keep bystanders safe.

    Kind Regards,
    Deric Meynn
At the bottom of the letter, he writes the names he heard and a brief description..

    Raugwar of Whurest
Artemis of the Temple of Lathander

A missive bearing the official seals of the Tenth Legion arrives at the Second Wind Inn. The intended recipient is listed as "Mister Deric Meynn."

    Mister Meynn,

I have investigated the matter stated in your correspondence and spoken with the identified Legionnaire. Specific instructions were offered on how better to handle a similar situation should one occur again.

Thank you for bringing your concern to my attention.

    For the Legion,

    Myrios Emiliana Blackwell
    Tenth Legion

      "Dear Mr. Meynn

We are the dawn, the rising light and shining beacons against the shadows. If next you conclude that you are in immediate danger from an assumed conflict between such, I would recommend instead of tarrying and hoping that owning property makes a place incapable of becoming a battleground, you instead understand the harsh realities that this valley faces and leave to let things be settled.

This advice stems well beyond the control of the temple of Lathander, as this applies to any holy knight, priest, arcanist or morally inclined warrior within the valley. Things inevitably will come to blows in such chaos, and expecting respect toward a piece of paper when no power holds the strength to enforce it out there... Well, it's simply delusional.
