  • A letter to Tery Mard

While mulling over how to begin her search, Julia heads towards the Mariner. She exchanges a brief courtesy towards the man out front, but after noticing the insignia on the fellow's weapon hilt--and sharing a few words--she leaves a letter, folded and sealed with the symbol of the Blackwood Company, in his custody with a request to deliver to the Directeur of the Corps de Grace should he come by.

    Directeur Tery Mard,

I hope this note finds you in good health. I would like to meet with you and discuss a number of things pertaining to your organization and its roster.

If you are interested, you may leave a reply at the Blackwood Company Barracks on the eastern end of Avanthyr, and we can arrange a time and place of meeting when convenient.

    Regards,
    Sergeant Julia Arvison
But please, keep one thing in mind for me. What have you become when even nightmares fear you?

*** Dropping in for an ale, Tery Mard receives a sealed message at the door of the Menacing Mariner. While enjoying the ale, he opens the message and reads it. He sits thinking, barely noticing the sounds of the room. Finally, he takes a pen and paper out of his pack and replies ... ***

    Sergeant Arvison,
I am interested in your proposal. I do indeed wish to begin discussion. However, I am about to retreat for my periodic meditation. Would you will be willing to discuss matters by letter? I shall be in seclusion at House Meriadoc and can be reached there.

I hope this will be satisfactory.

    Tery Mard
*** He folds the message, writes Sergeant Arvison's name on the outside and hands it to the man who passed him the original message. ***

(((OOC "being in seclusion for meditation" is my code for being unavailable in-game, so I hope we can do this by letters or PM if necessary. I'm travelling and my computer doesn't have NWN2 installed. )))
    Cheers,
    Dave

Heading back to the barracks, Julia nods as she receives the message in reply. Her eyes slide back and forth as she absorbs the contents, and a corner of her lip tugs downwards as she makes her way to her working space.

Clearing some room, she produces paper and quill and writes a reply to hand to the ex-Corpsman before the Mariner.

      Directeur Mard,

I will be willing to cover topics in that manner, provided I am assured that you are able to clear it with the Meriadocs, as I do not know their stance on permitting correspondence to and from the Hold.

      Regards,
      Sergeant Julia Arvison

[Likely continue via PM. If a DM wants to know the contents for DM-y stuff, poke me.]

        *** Tery replies ... ***
Sergeant: Thank you. Your reply reached me and I was able to send this out. There should be no problems with the Meriadocs. Their offer of shelter was quite open. I will welcome further discussion.

        (((OOC continuing by PM )))
        Cheers,
