Captain,
I did not wish to disturb your rest more last eve, so instead I decided to write a letter detailing something troubling to me. I know that my actions broke the law, and I have paid my price, but I am troubled by other actions that eve.
The reason I came to you in shackles is due to Kai Nightwind and his followers. While distinguishing of some bugs in the caves in Aquor - we both know with those problems - I was confronted by Kai. He asked my name, and I refused to tell him. As I said last night, he's not my father, and I do not have to answer to him. I turned to leave, and he attacked. His followers blocked the door as he struck me from behind. Now, I know you may be thinking that the outcome was just due to what happened last eve. However, consider that Kai did not gain any facts before attacking. He decided to strike first and ask later. Imagine, a visitor to Sundren, hired to deal with the same problems I was dealing with were approached. Many, I believe, would have responded the same way. We cannot have men swinging swords to get questions asked. The proper means should be followed in every situation. I believe that nobody is above the law, and I know in your position, it would be troubling to hear that a man, even with the reputation of Kai Nightwind, has taken it upon himself to usurp the autorities and strike without proper information or evidence.
Once again, I have learned from my mistake, paid the price, but I believe that I was not the only one at fault. Again, thank you for your time and consideration.
