Word comes to Emiliana of Magus Goldleaf's personal interest of late in drilling and testing the green Legion recruits at the Gate of Sunderer, according to her informers, he has been subjecting them to all kinds of tests of both the mind and body. Shortly after, a letter as well as two lists of names, each with less than a dozen names finds its way into her hands.

I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits.
I have seen fit to select those of the new Legion recruits that I deem suitable to receive special training in a combination of magic and fencing techniques, and would ask for your permission to see to their training myself.
I believe that my experience in battling both the armies of the Black Hand and the Bloodmaim Orcs, as well as my arcane knowledge, will be invaluable in shaping these future Legionaires, who have the potential to become a valuable asset to the Legion.
Whilst I admit, some are above the age the Hands would usually accept as apprentices, and some can barely read or write, magic has no barriers between languages, and I have only chosen those who have the character and intellect to succeed, if given the right incentive.
The first list are those who favour my fencing style, and have the required intellect to become Mages (Dex14+ and Int14+). The second list are those who favour strength over finesee (Str14+ and Int14+), whom I thought perhaps you could find another of the Scholii who is skilled in such fighting to train.
I would also ask for permission to test the refugees of Cheapside, including women and children...those who might not have thought worthwhile to apply for the Legion. We are sorely lacking in experienced warriors, and our gaze should be fixed on the future if the Legion are to survive and even thrive once again.
